GUYS ITS FINALLY HAPPENED. VEGAN FOOD AT MCDONALD'S!!
The new veggie crunch burger is vegan minus the Mc Chicken sauce (-: The patty is deep fried (expected of Mc Donald's) and is made of potato, carrot, green bean and peas and is sandwiched between 2 sesame buns together with cucumber, bell pepper and some lettuce. The patty is crispy and not overly mushy which tends to happen with potato based veggie burgers! In future I'll be adding pickles in to take it to the next level!
Hi everyone!
I contacted Cocoichibanya on the 21st of December 2015 and requested for the vegan options on their menu. This is what they said:
Hi Sophia, thanks for your question. Our dishes are not "Vegan certified" however our curry stock is now all vegetarian (contains no meat, eggs or dairy) except for the Beef Hashima Omelette Curry which is made of a different base. For non-meat options, you can choose the Vegetable Curry or Eggplant and Spinach Curry. We also have Mushroom Curry and you can try our Mini Salad, Corn Salad, Fries with Curry. You can also order the vegetarian toppings separately.
And this is what is now on their facebook:
For our curry gravy, all levels (1 - 5) and mild and standard curry are vegetarian and contain no egg or dairy products. You can order the vegetable curry or the mushroom curry which contain no meat items. We are not vegan certified so the utensils used might have been used to handle non-vegetarian items. Our curry contains onion and garlic. Only one curry dish, the Hayashi Beef Curry (Hashed beef) contains meat stock in the special tomato based curry with wine.
I have yet to try their curry but the food actually looks really good! I haven't had Japanese curry since I went vegan (over 2 years) so I'm super excited to taste their food when I have time to. Hope this helps some of y'all out (:
Update: Tried the curry recently and it's amazing! Generous portion sizes as well!
For a chicken restaurant, Nando's is really vegan friendly. I love it.
So far I've just tried the veggie burger. It's really tasty ehehe. The patty is made of potato ( I think) and other veggies like peas, carrots and corn! It's served in a Portuguese roll with their signature peri peri sauce (I like it hot), tomatoes and some greens!!
So here's an option for vegans dining out with meat eaters :-)
